Carting Around Delray

03.30.17 Delray Beach, Florida

So lemme just re-write this whole blog post.............

Kate won a golf cart rental for a day so she graciously decided to use it while we're here. It was HILARIOUS. She was a big six seater golf cart named Sweet Pea and we loved every second of it. She was street legal with seat belts and turn signals and everything. Kate, Cole, and Mad picked us up for brunch and we went to one of Kate's fave stops, "Che!!" Where some of the waiters have delicious accents. We got piña coladas and they were the best I've ever had. I also had a delicious flatbread, one of three on the menu, all of which I wanted to try. The view was great, we were right on the intercostal canal and we got to watch the bridge go up a couple times to let the boats through.

After brunch we went to the beach to swim, it was a yello flag and the waves were SO BIG! I had popped my blister that morning so as soon as we touched the water I got salt in the wound 🤣 It was pretty painful but I wasn't trying to miss out on the waves! We were in there for quite a while and then went back to lay on the beach, Mad helped me back to our towels and after it dried I cleaned some of the sand out but it still hurt like a son of a bitch to walk on.

Next we went shopping and the boys went to this sort of biker bar on the train tracks that gives you half off shots when a train goes by if it's not happy hour.  We split up and eventually met the boys at the bar.. I showed up with Starbucks and Ash got a chocolate ice cream cone 😂😂😂 Eventually all the parents met us and we went to dinner at a place called "Caffe Martie" and had a really awesome server named Mike! The drinks were very fancy and delicious and the entrees were so pretty we all ooo'd and ahh'd as they set everyone's plate down. The restaurant was pretty cool, it started out as a store that sold snacks and then evolved into a restaurant. There's also a speakeasy in the back, the structure of which has been there for 91 years according to the hostess.

Kate, Cole, and Mad continued on to Saltwater Brewery while the rest of us chumped out and went to bed.
