Game Over

Trying to do a play on GoT (Game of Thrones) for the title but nothing's coming to me.

-DAY 10, Dubrovnik, Croatia-

9.14.16 Wednesday

We thought we thought we wouldn't sweat so much today. HA.

We docked at 9 and were able to get off the ship at 930. We met Rachel & Sarah at our hot breakfast spot and then took off. We had tickets to a shuttle that would take you from where the ship was anchored into Dubrovnik, about a 20 minute ride.

We obtained a map and headed straight for the cable car because we heard the line gets awful and believe me, it did. Luckily when we arrived it wasn't SO horrible except for a group of school kids and a nasty tour guide. We bought tickets and eventually headed up into the Dinaric Alps. The sights were beautiful, Dubrovnik is another beautiful, old, intricate town. While atop the mountain we heard what sounded like a windchime, it was cowbells!

Here's our advice, cruises are amazing and help you see more without lugging everything around. You also meet a ton of people and make new friends. The excursions are expensive and sometimes a little annoying or a little too much, but honestly, I think you'd get the most out of them. Trying to do things on your own works well too but if you aren't used to the climate, aren't a frequent or seasoned traveler, and are not a history buff, do a TOUR- with or without the cruise line.

The old town is famous for the wall surrounding it (and also because Game of Thrones is shot there or something but we've never seen it so we don't care) so we bought tickets and walked around it. After we were a little over halfway, EP & I exited without climbing the last tower while Rachel and Sarah pushed on to the finish. We stopped at a cafe so I could try a Croatian beer (I've been drinking a lot of liquor on the ship since it's free/we already paid for it). The beer was delish, hit the spot, and we scored some wifi for a second.

Found the shuttle and headed back to the ship, I had fuzzies all over me because I had decided I didn't need to wash the new shirt I bought. Stupid!!! Fuzzies everywhere. So when we got back we began packing our suitcases and I took a quick shower before we headed down to our usual..

Trivia @ 5! The theme was rock songs and David and Andrew were there! We did okay, really well on like the first 5 and then we started not knowing the answers. I think we ended up with 19 out of 30. After trivia we hung out with David & Andrew as we watched the ship set sail, we even saw a rainbow! It was nice.

After they left to go to dinner we got another drink and read our books. For 730p trivia we moved to the bar to hang out with Danis and Lucas came to join us. We drank a bunch more and almost did really awesome at Queen vs. Beatles trivia. There were 3 teams of brits that kicked everyone's ass and got like 100%. We had time to kill so we had another drink and I asked Danis and Jesus ("hey-zeus") a million questions about cruise life.

Time for dinner! We love dinner time! It's nice to see our servers and we like taking our time and trying the things on the menu. EP got scallops and french onion soup and I got a salad with baked feta. It was so amazing I nearly licked the plate and immediately ordered another. For the main course EP tried a pasta which was delicious and only had one giant piece of prosciutto on it that I could've easily removed. Instead I had ordered the sweet & sour (fake) chicken (vegetarian). The fake meat was way better in this dish than the fake meatballs the night before but I liked the sauce that came with the fake meatballs much better. It all sounds so appetizing, right? 😂😂 For dessert I had a lemon tart and EP had an apple tart, both were good.

We hugged Tetiana goodbye and went to watch a movie on deck, Pan. After like 15 or 20 minutes we were both over it. We were a bit tipsy from the drinks, tired from the hot day, and not at all into the movie.

Bed time indeed!!! 😴
