ALL ABOARD!

So I’ve been in Boston for a little over a year.. it was time for a girl’s trip to NYC!!!

The Amtrak train offers many options from Boston, including a line that runs to New York City. We got saver tickets for around 49$ each way leaving Thursday night and returning Monday afternoon.

After work on Thursday I headed home to walk the dogs and then BB and I took a Lyft to the train station to meet KK (Kristen) and Danielle! We all made it on the train and were even able to get a four seat section facing each other (NOT in the quiet car!). We had ample room and were able to store our suitcases right overhead.

BB had packed wine & her new reusable bottles (and cups with lids!) that will keep wine at temp. They were the perfect travel item for our train ride!!! To be honest I myself got quite toasted (I drank two bottles of champagne) and we all had a really great ride. The four hours flew by and we only got asked to be quiet once. At some point we got out some chex mix for snacking and we may have accidentally dropped it all over the floor.

Upon our arrival at Penn Station my eyes were aglow with wonder at the bright lights and big city! I’m sure we were a site to see as we dragged our bags up and down the stairs through the station - at one point one of us fell directly over and I may or may not have tried to charm a handsome police officer. We got to see the Empire State Building and BB directed us safely a few blocks down to the subway station to catch a ride to our hotel (also only a flew blocks away from a subway station).

The hotel was expecting us and the man behind the front desk, Anthony, was very kind and patient. He gave us four room keys and I promptly left my purse on his desk when we got on the elevator. Luckily I noticed and quickly went back down to retrieve it.

I would say it was a VERY successful travel day!
