Dublin to Belfast

Well, I am running gram ragged this last leg of the trip! Her knee is feeling less than horrible from all the walking yesterday. We tried a pain patch but the ones she bought are crap. She’s taking a nice warm bath now.

We have a busy schedule, tomorrow morning we will be up very early to get a bus to Strabane for family history stuff. It’s nearly three hours away, unfortunately. But an essential part of our family history journey.

Thursday we have the giants causeway tour which is packed with other sites like bushmills whiskey distillery and dunluce castle.

Friday is titanic day! And perhaps St. Patrick’s remains in Co. Down.

And Saturday is the black taxi tour and straight from there to the train to Dublin, and then white friar street church so gram can see St. Valentine.

Whew! Makes me tired just reading it all but also excited!!!

Our train ride was very scenic.. The first photo is the Irish Sea and the other two are just scenery along the way. The fourth photo is of our new currency, the British pound, or “quid”, pence, sterling.. who the hell knows.

The fifth photo is our key, our new place is fantastic. Our host, Donna, made us coffee & tea with shortbread biscuits when we arrived. She also chatted with me for quite some time, she reminds me of someone my mom would be friends with. She recommended a great place for us to have dinner, the food was fantastic, the service was great, and the walk was short. All these photos of course are on my camera.

The room is big and the shower is loads better than the last place. And my pillow feels so mushy and comfy!!!

Early start tomorrow. Night y'all!
