More Than Two Piña Coladas

Woke up today and hit Ellie's 50s diner for breakfast! They have, according to Uncle Ross, every picture of Marilyn Monroe ever taken as well as cheap mimosas and bloody mary's. All of the menu items are named after songs, at least three of us got the "Lonely Boy" so he wasn't lonely anymore 😉

After breakfast I went to the pool with mom where some chatty children talked her ear off and she did her exercises. Mad, Kate, Cole, Serena, and Aunt Mary came to get me and we all went to the beach. The waves were huge again, it is windy in Delray! Aunt Cathy came over too and while we were in the water asked what the purple flag was about.. the beach was flying yellow and purple which mean medium hazard (moderate surf and/or currents) and dangerous marine life, respectively. The guy told her it was just a jellyfish and even if they (or anyone) see one jellyfish washed up on the beach, they have to put out the flag. We had a blast playing in the waves and my mom and John eventually came too. We didn't think mom should go in because of the undertow and her knee.. don't wanna pull it sideways and tear an ACL or something, but John did and it was fun! He tried to put the umbrella up that they brought but it kept blowing backwards in the wind 😂

We went to the grocery store and got some food for today and tomorrow , burgers and brats for grilling, some guac, some beer, and I was set on making some piña coladas after the delicious one at Che!!. I got some organic coconut juice and some pineapple juice and some rum.. and even found the maraschino cherries. I should've gotten some coconut cream as well, I think that would have rounded it out. So they weren't the best but they were okay.. we finished it all 🙃.

We stopped by the epic surf shop to get John a hat because Uncle Ross had just bought a nice one there that looked like one they had at the Ritz (for like $300) but they were closed. Aunt Mary brought over some smoked tequila that she bought, it was interesting.. maybe if you roasted some limes or something you could make a fancy margarita but I can't drink straight tequila anymore 🤣

We just ate at home and drank a lot, had a good time talking and laughing on the porch and in the cottage. At some point Uncle Ross brought up the custard again, he sure loves that stuff! And Serena was hungry too so we went down to BurgerFi again and I got the parmesan, garlic, and herb fries.. soooooo good.

We also took a night walk on the beach and sat in a hole that someone dug in the sand (they made a bench in there too) and then went to the pool to rinse off! We brought our beverages and mom's bluetooth speaker and just had a blast!

Overall an excellent family night!
