Falmouth, Jamaica

Today mon, we were in Jamaica, ya mon. It was pretty fucking awesome! Everyone is so chill, they were a little bit pushy to get you to look at their stuff at the market but it was all good. The stuff at the market was awesome, it's hot as all get out, and the people just come and sell their crafts to the tourists. They are really nice and very fair.

We had breakfast and coffee on the ship, Ash had been up at her usual 0630 and seen our cabin guy, I have no clue how to spell his name but it sounds something like "Elicio" ... 'el-ee-cee-oh'. We got ready and walked into Jamaica! It's very hilly where we docked and super awesome looking. None of us did a shore excursion so the triple threat (MBA) walked around together. We all found stuff we liked and then had beers and rum punches at a bar.

The bartenders were awesome and super friendly, one left or a minute to go play football (soccer) and then came back and explained to us how the teams work. I also asked about the bugs on the bar counter and he reassured me they were just ants. So then naturally I asked him about native birds.. yeah. Anyway, the rum punches are made with a white rum that's like 120 proof and then they put Appleton dark rum on top. Sheldon, one of the bartenders, explained to us about "dry throat reasoning" and how you shouldn't do it, you always need a drink! 😉

Eventually a guy sat down at the bar and started talking to us, he ended up being Jack from the "Sound Stars," one of the bands on the ship. He plays guitar and we also briefly met Tom who plays the keyboard. We talked to Jack for a while about a wide variety of topics and it was quite awesome! The band is good even though they play music that is not Tom's favorite. They have a pretty sweet gig! They're from England originally, Jack from near Bristol.

After our chat we headed back to the ship to shower and eat. We hit up the Mast Grill for some veggie burgers and fries, and beer! Everything was delicious. We totally sucked at both 80s music trivia and general trivia at 330 and 4p but it was still fun/something to do.

I went to the Michael Kors clearance sale on the ship with Lisa and Elaine at 5. I got there early and bought a watch with the rest of my onboard credit. There was a raffle at 5 and the guy pulling the ticket pulled his own, it was pretty funny! Elaine got a purse and then I met Brian and Ashley in the game lounge to play a card game.

We chose to play "We Didn't Playtest This At All" which is a ridiculous but fun card game. After a few rounds it was time for dinner, which was okay. Our waiter was hilarious, as usual, and the menu was okay.

After dinner there want much to do so we played cards again for a bit and then decided to check out the karaoke. It wasn't bad, I think I'll sing tomorrow if we get to it.

Now we're, well, I'M in bed! Big day on Haiti tomorrow- we'll be at Labadee which is an island owned by Royal Caribbean, I believe.

Jammin'.
