Another Day in Edinburgh
I WISH I COULD TYPE FASTER!!! But obviously you all know I am working with one hand here. I had an amazing day.
First I experienced a vegetarian Scottish breakfast complete with a vegetarian haggis and potato pancake, it was actually very delicious (1st picture).
Next I took off for the city centre, I planned a list of things and was actually able to accomplish them 100%.
The bus lets off right near the Walter Scott monument and so there I walked 287 steps to the top (2nd photo).
Next I walked to greyfriar’s bobby, solely to see the grave of the dog who guarded his master’s grave for 14 years. Amazing- I can only hope my dog loves me that much. So I pet the dog and when I go to see his grave I find a whole full cemetery from hundreds of years ago, come to find out JK Rowling would stroll through and pick names for her books, including McGonegal and none other than he who shall not be named, photo 4, Tom Riddle.
The next photo is me before climbing 251 treacherous meters to Arthur’s seat, while the next three photos depict after. I met two wonderful Frenchmen, Stellio and Yannick, who kept me company for hours. Stellio loves photography so when I was taking a picture he saw me and also thought it would be a great photograph. We then got to talking and couldn’t stop!
After the exhausting climb we ended up at the worlds end pub where we forgot about dinner so around 10 we had to leave in the rain to find food.
Eventually, after running into a crazy drunk Lithuanian girl, we ended up at Dropkick Murphy’s where there was a lovely musician and a bunch of Irish & Scottish natives who were shocked to learn that I was not an Irish native.
