Inis Mór, Aran Islands, Ireland
Today we had breakfast and it was recommended that we try a pub called the crane tonight.
Next we went to the aran islands tour office and spent a decent amount of money on a trip out for a bus that left in five minutes but “it would be fine, don’t worry” well, we missed it and had to wait til noon. I was less than satisfied with this company, Lally Tours, and will not use them again.
We paid ten euro for a tour once we got to the island, a short one because we had the 5 o clock ferry to take. It was AWESOME! The sky was clear, the water was beautiful. I went up to fort dun aonghasa, that’s where the last five pictures are from. The cliffs are 300ft down I believe, and you could see for miles. Next we went to the 7 churches, which was a site of 7 churches in a circle, only two remain standing. That’s gram and I in the area. We also stopped at the beach and the bus people let me run to put my feet in the Atlantic. It was fantastic! That beach on the aran islands is meant to be the clearest, cleanest beach in Ireland. Finally we took the bus back to the ferry back to town.
We ate at a little place in the city centre and the food was good! Then we went to Monroe’s and had a drink but there was no music.
Finally we ended up at the crane, that’s the last picture. Great for trad Irish music.
I’m exhausted! Travel day tomorrow. Goodnight!!!
