Cork, Ireland

Trying to find some “images of the day” and I don’t really have any. Sorry! I keep forgetting to use my phone. I will leave you with a funny conversation with my mom and a fuzzy photo from the pub tonight. Anyway, we got to our new B&B, Garnish House. We had our “welcome tea” which included only us and the lady that brought me ice cubes. It’s funny how two bed and breakfasts can be so different.. Although if you think about it humans are very different from one another so it’s entirely possible and even certain that 2 b&b’s might be different. Although I am looking forward to breakfast tomorrow because I don’t have to get up as early and the menu is more extensive.

I have been feeling pretty snarky today because I miss Erica and Marko and I have to say I took it out on Cork. I have been thinking in my head all day, “this sucks I want to go back to Dublin.”

I do like that we are near the city centre and we can walk everywhere instead of taking bus or cab. However, trying to find a decent place for food today was a trick and the pub recommended to us for music started 45 minutes later than we were told.

Anyway, we walked around a large part of the city and visited St. Finn Barre’s Cathedral. Finally we got hungry and stopped at The Woodford. I had a Franciscan rebel red.. It was okay but I wish I had tried the friar weisse.

Next we went to An Spailpín Fánach for music but we were very early and both of us were kind of tired and grumpy. But FINALLY the music came on and gram “got warm” and so did I. I met some really cool guys from Spain & Mexico and two of the people singing & playing music were American and the best part is I knew it!! Stuck out like sore thumbs.

Anyway, I’m exhausted. Goodnight!
